Fishing is a mechanic available as early as Doom Island, and aids players in item and currency acquisition along their journey through the seven seas.

To fish, cast the rod into a body of water and wait until an "!" showing above yourself and bobber dips underneath the water surface. Rapidly click to reel in after the two visual cues. Fish that are caught also grant the player Strength Level EXP and Player Level. The sell prices can be used to estimate the value of Lamina and know the times to buy and sell.

Ripples in the water formed around the bobber indicate that the rod has attracted something. After a catch, the fishing rod has a chance to break.

Fishing Rod and Bait[]

Bait

Bait is a consumable that can be purchased from fishermen. One bait is needed every time you attempt to fish. It is retrievable if player reels the rod in before a fish bites.

Trivia[]

  • Bobber that is cast from the fishing rod is an extension to the player's hitbox, resulting in damage being transferred over to the player if attacks (e.g. Lightning Bolt) hit the bobber (this counts as a limb for guns, with a musket doing 500 damage).
  • The higher the strength level is, the easier it is to catch rarer fish, (Strength 300 will be easier to catch rare fish than strength 100)
  • Occasionally, the item caught will not be pulled up even if you click at the correct timing, this is likely a bug.
  • Some fishing rods appear in the inventory as a weapon due to a bug in earlier stages of the game. These rods can be re-equipped after breaking to be used infinitely and can even be used in the Northwestern-open sea
  • In old versions of Arcane Adventures, you could fish in lava pools at Judgement Isle. This feature is added as of v1.1 in Arcane Reborn.
